THE NINE YEAR VISIT

The Nine Year Visit

At this visit, we will:

  • Take your child’s height and weight
  • Perform a vision test
  • Take blood pressure
  • Routine cholesterol test

GUIDANCE

School: Stay involved with your child’s schoolwork. If you start to notice that they excel at certain subjects but has difficulty in others, now is the time to talk with their teachers to see if any extra help is needed.

Health: A nine-year-old is still growing like a weed. To keep those bones and muscles healthy, be sure your child gets at least 60 minutes of exercise a day.

Safety: The backseat of the car is still the safest spot for your child when traveling. If you think they are tall enough to start using the lap belt without a booster, make sure the seat belt fits correctly over their lap and shoulder. If not, they may need that booster seat for a bit longer. And, we know you know, but keep enforcing the helmet rule when your child is riding a bike, or anything else for that matter. We’ll get back to you with our recommendations for hover-board protection once they hit the market.
