Our childbirth classes are taught by engaging and highly qualified educators who incorporate the best of the various methods (Lamaze, Bradley, etc.) into their classes.

Topics included:

  • How labor works: signs, stages, when to call, when to go.
  • The full range of natural coping strategies from massage to breathing to positioning.
  • Epidurals and pain medications.
  • All you need to know about medical procedures such as monitoring,induction and cesarean birth.
  • What to expect at the hospital or birth center and during the recovery period.

    Ceridwen Morris has been working with pregnant women and expectant parents for over ten years. Her writing on pregnancy and birth has appeared in numerous publications including The New York Times, Huffington Post and Babble. She co-authored the popular and open-minded pregnancy, birth and baby book “From the Hips” in 2007. Ceridwen now serves on the board of the Childbirth Education Association of New York. She has two kids and lives on the Upper West Side.

    After the birth of her two daughters, Jayne started her own public access show “Mamarama” and in 2014, she successfully petitioned the Port Authority Trans Hudson (PATH) to create better seating awareness for pregnant passengers. Jayne says, “The transition from birth to new parenthood is life-altering, challenging and rewarding – all parents deserve guidance and support through their journey.”

A native New Yorker, Margot lives on the Lower East Side with her husband and two sons.

Our Essential Baby Care & Feeding class helps expectant parents prepare for the first weeks at home with their newborn. Understanding the basics of newborn behavior, sleep and feeding can be enormously helpful for first time parents.

    Abigail joined Tribeca Pediatrics in 2014 and has been working in the NICU at the Brooklyn Hospital Center for 3 years. She began her career as a private baby nurse and really enjoys teaching parents how to become more independent and confident. She is currently getting her Masters concurrently with her Doctorate at Columbia University as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

    Sara joined Tribeca Pediatrics in 2013 and has been teaching parenting classes since 2014. Sara loves working with kids and takes pride in helping growing families. She is currently working towards completing her Masters degree from New York University to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP).

New Dad Boot Camps offer expectant and new dads a frank discussion along with practical advice and hands-on training in essential parenting duties.

A former public school teacher, Lance frequently writes about fatherhood and has appeared on local and national television including CNN, Fox News, and Today Show. Lance resides in New York City with his family.

  • Matt Schneider

    Matt is the co-founder of NYC Dads Group – an active community of fathers that meetup all over the New York Metro area. Matt hosts The Modern Dads Podcast, a monthly show highlighting stories of 21st century dads and families. He has contributed to The Huffington Post and New York Family Magazine, and has been quoted in The New York Times and USA Today. Matt lives with his wife and two sons in New York City.

Come learn infant and child CPR. This interactive, fun session will leave you well prepared for a cardiac or choking emergency. This class can be taken before or after birth.

  • Infant and child CPR, newborn to 12 years.
  • Critical safety information for new parents.
  • Techniques to help your infant or child in a breathing emergency.

    Geoff has been an educator for over 15 years, with experience in classrooms, kitchens, and all sorts of other venues. As a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technican, he can help people correctly install car seats. Geoff is the father of two boys, aged 10 and 13, that keep him on his toes.
