Q & A with Dr. Chloe Free-Nozil

How did you get into Pediatrics?
I have always found working with kids to be the most rewarding – they are resilient, dynamic (and often hilarious!). I was a teacher before I went to medical school and I saw how things like poor nutrition, developmental delay, and other health issues directly impacted learning and overall success in children’s lives. Pediatrics allows a unique opportunity to be an advocate, counselor, teacher and physician at the same time.

Where did you grow up?
I lived in Waterbury, Connecticut from kindergarten to high school, but I actually did live in Park Slope for a couple of years before starting school!

Where do you live?
Gowanus, Brooklyn.

What do you enjoy most about working in Prospect Heights?
I love being in Brooklyn for its diversity and culture. It’s exciting to serve the community in a small clinic setting while being a part of the larger Tribeca Pediatrics network.

What keeps you motivated?
Seeing children develop well and recover from illnesses and go on to thrive. Supporting different global health initiatives is also very important to me.

What do you do for fun?
I love to run, travel, cook, and spend time with friends and family.
