Q & A with Dr. Emily Mauck

How did you get into pediatrics?
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved children. I began babysitting when I was 10 years old, and kids have been a huge part of my life ever since. Being able to provide both parents and patients with education that supports their growth and development is very fulfilling. Furthermore, children are resilient, energetic, and honestly hilarious which makes each day at work exciting and interesting!

Where did you grow up?
Richmond, VA.

Where do you live?
Greenwich Village.

What keeps you motivated?
I am constantly reminded that there is always something to learn! The field of pediatrics is ever evolving which encourages me to stay up to date on all of the newest guidelines so I can serve my patients to the best of my abilities.

What do you do for fun?
I enjoy running and exploring the city when I am not working! I ran the NYC marathon this past fall and it was definitely a highlight for me. The energy from the fans and other runners was contagious! I hope to do it again some day.
