Q&A with Dr. Genna Marcin

How did you get into pediatrics?
I have wanted to become a pediatrician since I was a little girl! I was always interested in science, medicine, helping others, giving back to the community, and especially giving the youngest and smallest of our society a voice! Pediatrics was a perfect fit for me. As a mom and doctor, I believe we can learn so much from our little ones, and that Pediatrics is the happiest and most inspiring field of medicine. I’m so grateful to have my dream job every day!

Where did you grow up?
Marlborough, Connecticut – in a big family!

Where do you live now?
Bronxville, NY – I love being able to walk down the street and have the option to explore a new coffee shop or take a walk or run on the local nature trails! I also enjoy the proximity to NYC we have in Westchester county. I love theater and visiting all the great museums the city has to offer!

What do you look forward to most about working in your neighborhood office?
I look forward to joining a great team of providers committed to the absolute best care of the children in our community, and also becoming part of a great local community! I love watching my patients grow up from birth onward—it is so special. The relationships I’m able to form with families and continuity of care are some of my favorite aspects of working in a neighborhood office.

What keeps you motivated?
Being a lifelong learner and caring for all my patients as I’d care for my own children keep me motivated, along with working with great colleagues!

What do you do for fun?
Spending time with my toddler and husband, exploring new restaurants, global travel, seeing Broadway shows, visiting museums, running, going to the beach
